Ship's Wheel

Classic: pirate theme, with a skeleton standing at a ship's wheel.

How It Came About

We didn't actually build this ship's wheel. It was built by another haunter, who subsequently decided that he had too much different stuff in his haunt, and wanted to converge on a single theme.

So he donated the ship's wheel to the CalHauntS door prize drawing where Dennis lusted after it. David's name got pulled early in the drawing and he looked over the goodies, wondering what he might like, while Dennis screamed "Get the wheel!!! Get the wheel!!!"

We then built a hanger to support a Bucky skeleton standing at the wheel.

Clearly, we were inspired by the scene from Disney Land's Pirates of the Carribean ride, that has a skeletal pirate at the wheel of a ship in a storm.

It's a great addition to our pirate theme.
