I think we should all contribute favorite low budget props. So = here=92s my contribution, granted they aren=92t great ideas in and of themselves = but added to other things they can make nice displays to set the mood. Pumpkin lights~ cheap TOT pumpkins hung on a fence and lit with the large Christmas tree lights, if you have an old string of random flashers even better. You can sometimes find the pumpkins really cheap the day of Halloween for as low as 25 cents, 3 or 4 bucks well spent makes nice eye candy. Duct tape dummies are fun especially if your kids have being particularly annoying! Dress them in your kids old clothes which adds up to almost = free, 1 roll of tape for each child, more if you=92re taping up a spouse. OOOO kinky! I want the details! Ya=92ll have any more ideas? Claudette - - - - - Subject: Re: Hall: Low budget Props From: Date: Tue, 31 Jul 2001 16:27:20 EDT There are uncountable low cost props, but I'll kick in a few old = favorites. Chicken wire, life-size characters cost almost nothing; roll of wire, old clothing or cheap material and a $2 wig head can be turned into almost anyone. I have, in the distant past, made spectral hanging props, a witch = on a broomstick suspended above the driveway. mummy, grim reaper etc... My absolute favorite takes a bit of explaining- I always had a yearly battle with a basketball hoop in my front yard. I finally solved it by turning it into (in ascending years) a cobra (wire = head mounted on the hoop and black poly wrapped around a chicken wire frame, painted to look right and using the backboard to form the "hood".), the pumpkin from Hauntworld's web site (plastic pumpkin head w/ black poly painted and cut to look like the tuxedo over chicken wire.) and a Grim = Reaper that was assembled in under 30 minutes using black poly, a large skull = mask, skeletal hands made from wire and plaster bandage and assembled the whole = thing with an office stapler. The reason I love the BB Hoop prop is it's sheer size -10 to 12 feet. With a spot or two it can be seen for blocks! = If anyone is curious about the end results, I'll be happy to send pics. Sometimes I miss the home haunt days! George Colavecchio A Haunting Experience, Inc. - - - - -
