BASIC Stamp Family

The Prop-2 controller is built using the BASIC Stamp-2. The BASIC Stamp is actually a member of a large family of controllers from Parallax.

A BASIC Stamp contains:

• a Central Processing Unit (CPU)
• a connection to install (download) programs into the Stamp
• memory where a program may be stored (even with the power off) for execution
• input and output connections

Programs are edited and compiled on a personal computer, then downloaded into the Stamp for storage and execution.

Most stamps are programmed in a version of the BASIC computer language.

Prop-2 Controller

The Prop-2 was designed by haunters for haunters.

The Prop-2 Controller is available from EFX-TEK.

The Prop-2 features:

• based on the BASIC Stamp 2 microcontroller
• sixteen I/O pins
  • servo-style 3-pin header (Signal-Vdd-Vss) on all I/O pins
  • four I/O pins are configured with pullup/pulldown resistors
• 2.1 mm (center positive) power input (6 to 30 vdc) [12 and 24 VDC supplies are commonly used]
• onboard 5V regulator provides up to .5 A for TTL circuits
• may directly control TTL outputs (5VDC), hobby servos
• ULN2803-buffered outputs for 12-24 VDC solenoids, low voltage lamps, and small DC motors
• three position power switch: OFF, BS2 only, BS2 and V+ terminal
• size: 3.2” x 4.15” (82.8mm x 50.8mm)
